Feb 09, 2023 5:55 PM - 7:30 PM

Our speaker  is Anaru Baynes, Reintegration Manager at Pathway Trust. Anaru works in the Navigate Initiative Unit at Christchurch Men's Prison. The unit  is a joint cooperation between Corrections and Pathway Trust where Pathway works with men before they leave prison, to reintegrate them into the community once their sentence is ended. The Navigate Initiative is unique in New Zealand. It is achieving fabulous results that reverse the trend of reoffending.
Anaru will be showing a very inspiring short video about one man whose life has changed so much as the result of Navigate.

Please come to hear Anaru on Thursday. Guests are welcome but remember to reply on the Rotary email if you are bringing your partner and/or a guest. It will be a very inspirational night.

Chuck Fisher from USA speaks to us about his eclub
Mar 16, 2023 5:55 PM - 7:30 PM

I have just been contacted by Chuck Fisher, an American man who is a member of Rotary eClub WASH, an eclub in our new district 9999, although he lives in the US. WASH stands for Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene. They have 29 members worldwide, each working on appropriate projects. He arrives in Christchurch on 13 March and indicated an interest in joining us at our meeting on 16 March. I have asked him if he would be interested in being our guest speaker that night. I figured our members would be interested in the projects they are working on and also, perhaps, the concept of an eclub with worldwide members.
