Anzac Day - meeting at night at Papanui Club cancelled. 

**Members are invited to come for  breakfast to Station One Cafe, 509 Papanui Road, at  8:30am then attend the Papanui RSA Anzac service at 10 am. 

All hands to the pump! All club members are asked to assist with this major fundraising event.

Hamish is the Regional Manager for Conservation Volunteers NZ and will talk to us about the projects they have around the Christchurch area.He will also  talk about the possibility of Papanui Rotary being involved in setting up a Nursery. 

There will be more information about this on the tables so the members can understand the total concept.

Matthew and Gabrielle are members of the Lincoln Rotary Club.

They will talk about the Building Communities Project in more depth so that our club can look at getting this underway. Members have had an opportunity to hear about this at a previous Committee meeting night.

We know it's winter and some people are traveling and some have been sick, but attendance has been extremely low of late, and we ask that as many members attend as possible so as a club we can discuss the projects we have to date ie) -Papanui Bush, Cans 4 a Cause, Peace Poles, Aratupu Preschool, Speech Competition, Peer Support, RYLA candidates, Collections, Trailer Raffle, Hanmer Camp etc and the possible fundraisers ie) BBQ's, Building Better Communities, Card Bingo, Melbourne Cup, Polio, Art Auction etc.

This is your time to have input into these projects and fundraisers and everyone's view is valued

We need members to volunteer and have fun manning the BBQ at Mitre 10. Let Gary Denhard know you are able to help.

Papanui Bush working Bee (and every 2nd Tuesday of month)

Our three recipients of the proceeds of the Craft supplies Bazaar will attend our meeting on 11th July, they will each tell us briefly what their organisation does with in our community. They are:
Jill Falloon from Good night Sleep Tight
Yvonne Hiskemuller from the Rotary Community Breast milk bank  and
Burnie McCarthy from the  Christchurch Aunties. Each organisation has received $3000 each. This is our opportunity to thank them for what they do in our community.

4 hosts will welcome up to half a dozen guest in a pot luck evening.

Secondary school teacher and squash team coach Rod Hayes has published a book of humoroua sports poems and will entertain us by narrating a selection for us.

Preliminary rounds of 2024 Junior Speech Contest

A long-time friend of Papanui Rotary and a stalwart of the Hanmer community, Rosemary will be a guest of the club and speak about the Hanmer Forest Park Camp.

The finals of the 2024 Junior Speech Contest

To recognise Blue September being prostate cancer month, we ask everyone to wear something blue at the meeting that night.

Meeting will be at Courtney‘s home in Leinster Road and will be a fish and chip night with a donation of $10 from payment of each meal of $25 to go to prostate cancer.

Get a team together and join the fun for this club fundraiser.

All Rotary Clubs in the top half of the South Island will gather at the Hanmer Forest Camp for a weekend of community work at the camp and around Hanmer.

Ilam MP Hamish Campbell will speak.
