This is a partners night and it will be a Scottish Theme night. Wear something tartan, etc,

There will be some surprising and interesting responses to this question.

A dedicated Papanui Rotary team will cook and serve a great Christmas style meal at RMD House for the residents.

Everyone is welcome to join this relaxing and entertaining morning of easy conversation and plenty of laughs.

Our first meeting of 2021 begins with an evening at Deb Gimblett's residence where we bring our own takeaway food followed maybe by a soak in the New Brighton hot pools.

Up to 10 volunteers needed to help pack food boxes for the Canterbury Food Bank.

Theses are distributed to needy folk in the Christchurch area.

The work is light and a great opportunity to help those struggling and also enjoy some fellowship.

Our speaker for 4 February is Mark Hadlow, should be entertaining.

Mark Selwyn Hadlow ONZM (born 1957) is an Australian-New Zealand actor and comedian. Hadlow is perhaps best known internationally for playing the roles of Harry in King Kong and Dori, a Dwarf, in The Hobbit series.^[1]

^{Mark is a regular performer at the Court Theatre.}

This event is open to partner, family and friends.

On Sunday February 7 th everybody is welcome to come to the Kaiapoi Golf Links, Williams Street Kaiapoi for a couple of hours or so to play ‘Ambrose’ Golf (teams of four made up of golfers and ‘have-a- goers’).
 
We will make up the teams on the day. If you like, wear traditional golf garb.  We’ll gather at 11:30 am and included in the programme will be :
 

11:30 am. Golf professional Jason Tilley will provide coaching for you free of charge.
12 noon: meet and greet the celebrities and listen to a bit about course etiquette and safety.
We will then help make up the teams and inform you where you start your game.

 The cost is $20 pp,[EftPOS is available] and we will arrange free equipment for you if you haven’t any. Cart Hire is available.
 
After the golf please come into the clubhouse (about 3 pm) where you will be able to purchase afternoon tea from our caterers ‘Tasteful Affairs’. The bar will also be open.
 
During afternoon tea we will have some mystery prizes!
 
We are raising money for the Kaiapoi Golf Club Junior Development Programme, and as always, we’ll have a bit of fun at the same time.

A team from the club will be cooking the evening meal for the residents of Ronald McDonald House.

We have been invited to join with staff and patients for a BBQ in the new facility that the club helped finance.

This Thursday 11 Feb we are being hosted by Liz Oliver and the staff at Burwood Spinal Unit BBQ shelter. Hans Wouter CEO of the NZ Spinal Trust who came and spoke to our club 18 months ago will also be present. The evening is being put on as an appreciation for our partial funding of the BBQ shelter from a trailer raffle several years ago.

 Come through Gate 5 on Mairehau Rd and park in the public carpark. We will have the Rotary teardrop banner up to direct you to where you need to go. Dinner is being served at 6.00pm
 
Bring an outdoor chair and $15 for your  meal. Burwood are funding part of the meal - we are covering the balance. 
After a bite to eat we will take our chairs into the dining hall for a short period of club business. If the wind is too cold we may also eat in the dining hall. 
 
Burwood Spinal Unit is on CDHB land  so there is zero tolerance of smoking and alcohol. Burwood Spinal Unit will have water and orange juice available. If you want something different bring it along but please no alcohol. Glasses, plates etc will be provided. 
Please  advise the numbers attending in the usual way as we need to pass on the numbers to Burwood by late morning Wednesday.

Join us for a cruise down the tranquil Cam River on the River Queen. 

This is a partners event.

The cruise is of 1 to 2 hour duration (depending on tides)

John Milligan, CEO of Foodbank Aotearoa will speak to us about this exciting and worthwhile organisation and how they are helping the community.

Organise a car load and join the fun of a car rally expertly organised by Rob Nicholl. 

The fellowship committee has a car trial to Wilson's Mill Gardens and car collection organized for Sunday the 2nd May. 

Starting at the Flax Eatery & Bar. 41 Raranga St ,off Te Korari St. (On Preston's Rd cross  Marshlands, 1st left is Te Korari).

Trial starts 9.30 - 10.00am

BYO picnic lunch.
